- Masthead- bold, eye catching, font-unique
- Main image- largest image, direct mode of address (looking directly at reader) this reflects attitude of magazine, can be male or female
- Tag line
- Bar code- technical way of showing a product
- Issue number/Date- shows how well established magazine is (issue no. 1)
- Positioning statement- highlights the angle of the theme for magazine
- Bold font- eye catching
- Buzzwords- 'Plus, Elxclusive' these advertise features inside magazine
- Cover lines- advertise stories featured inside magazine
- Price- reflects contents of magazine
- Other images- reveals what may be inside magazine to reader
- Colour- represents genre of magazine & its attitude
