Article Research

Double Page Spread Article
For my music magazine article I will be interviewing Connor Hodgson as an individual artist, he plays for 2 local bands, 'Hodgson and the Plant' and 'Dead dukes' I will need to research Connor and the bands, asking the appropriate questions.

His thread is mostly covers of indie/pop songs but also have a stamp for Ska music, which is very unique for his age group but successful with fans. I searched through the web and found Connor advertised and websites such as...
The bands also have their own Myspace and Facebook pages...

My double page spread
The design of my double page spread will consist of...
  • Picture takes up whole page or more
  • Headlines across both pages
  • Stand first
  • Strap line or border is used to bleed across the double page spread witch links the pages together
  • Drop Capital at the start of the article- so you know were to start reading, they are sometimes in bold type or bigger size text
  • Smaller quotes used in the article to break up the text and make it more appealing to read (drop quotes)
  • A by-line as these all exist in any double page spread.

Planning Production

Front Cover Image for my Music Magazine

For my front cover image, I am using a medium close-up shot of a model posing with some sort or music representor e.g a guitar, drums or a microphone etc... hopefully capturing their individual personality.

This image, of the 'Cheryl Cole' is  perfect example of the image layout I will use for my magazine front cover.
I have realised that Q magazine is probably the main example of a magazine which matches the same conventions and genre of music of my magazine. So  i am going to analyse a front cover from this Q issue.
